Minyip Progress Association

Minyip Progress Association logo
Minyip Progress Association (MPA) commenced in the late 1800s, one of the earliest recorded projects was a memorial to William Farrer the father of Australian wheat. His development of rust resistant strains of wheat founded the agricultural industry we see today. That memorial (see image above) was constructed in the intersection of Main and Church St. It has since been relocated to the gardens at the Senior Citizens building . A reminder of his contribution is included in the roundabout at that intersection now.

The MPA sole objective is to undertake fundraising and development of projects for the betterment of the Minyip community.
